I walked past a church everyday...

I remember walking past a church everyday during college. I was desperately hungry for answers. |
But, I was prejudiced against "religion." It never occurred to me that I'd find my answers in church. I even went to a church retreat at the invitation of my newly God-focused parents. I brought two friends to the retreat for "safety" and we stayed far away from the churchy meetings, playing cards in our cabin and going to the bars at night. We looked like terrible prospects for salvation. But, with a year, two of us were walking with Jesus and the third was deeply immersed in a cult. We were so hungry. It breaks my heart that people ignore the hope offered by the church. They often do the same with Christian media. Many assume it's just not for them. They write if off before even hearing the story. That's why I am so passionate about fantasy stories like Tales of the Kingdom, the Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings. They open doors to those who might not listen to a "religious" story. I have discipled young men whose first wake up call came through Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies. They saw the spiritual battle between good and evil and realized they needed to get right with God. That's why Tales of the Kingdom is so powerful. They are beautiful and engaging stories that deliver truth to people who might not otherwise listen. I hesitate to proclaim how effective they are at teaching the ways of God, because people assume that means the stories must be "pedantic." They are anything but. People love them. Adults. Kids. Many Amazon reviews share how the readers wept with joy as they read. Please. Help us put these stories within the reach of those who so desperately need them. |
The Tales of the Kingdom books have opened doors to share Christ around the world for decades, encouraging believers and wooing seekers.
